A Fishing Club for Women.
WI Women Fish was created to help women become more active in the sport of fishing. When we first started there was a handful of women with the same passion. The club has grown and in addition to social fishing outings we also give educational clinics on a variety of fishing topics. The recent fly fishing retreat was a huge success and one instructor stated ” Its was the first clinic I taught where I was sure everyone would be out there fishing after the clinic was over”. That is what we do. We fish and help other women to get out and do more fishing. The fever has spread and we now have fished with over 500 women.
We are a club and collect dues of $25 per year. With that money we buy a liability insurance policy, pay for the web site, administrative costs and continue to produce quality group fishing events for you to attend. We have ice fished on Lake Superior, landed big fish from the barge on the Mississippi River and have perfected our fall Fish Camp which drew in Women from five states. We age in range from 25 – 65 and everyone is welcome. New anglers will find many helpful members and all levels of experience are invited to join.
One big advantage of becoming a club member is to get first chance at signing up for some events that by nature, can have only a limited number of Women attend. The weekend in a sleeper shack, the Ice Fishing 101 class and the Fly Fishing clinics are examples of events we have to limit. We try to keep the costs down but the quality of the events are impressive. Events that do have a fee are less expensive for members. Members are notified of new events before they are placed on the web site.
To join the club fill, out the membership form, sign the liability waiver and send in the $25 fee to the address on the form. You can also be part of the WI Women Fish facebook page where we have over 100 members. You must be a club member to attend events.
