Join us for a casual outing as we search for some Whitefish on the Bay of Green Bay. We have been here a few times now, on guided and semi guided trips. This year we are going on our own. We are targeting White Fish which are great to eat. For the last few years the bite has been good and we hope to catch some whoppers.
The method of fishing is jigging with a jig rod. Tip ups tend to not be very effective and the time you spend setting them up and checking them, you miss the fish that are going thru. Small spoons and dropper rigs tend to work the best.
Grab your portable shack, your sonar unit and your jig rods and come and join us. If you need some gear let us know. We have plenty of shacks and jig rods to share and we can show you the ropes. There are several places on the East shoreline of the Bay to access these fish. We will be going out of Lipskys which is located in Dykesville WI. Lipskys is a small hotel with a bar that is located right on the water. If you need lodging, I suggest you call right away as the space is limited. There is no charge for this event. We will meet in front of the place in the morning. Depending on the current fishing information, we may venture to an area near by, so be sure to watch the members only facebook page for up to date information. If you plan on attending and are not on facebook, send me a note and I will keep you up to date.
More detailed fishing tips and techniques will be shared later. No need to register for this event but let us know if you are coming so we don’t leave you behind. Loaner gear available if you plan ahead. Check out the web site for Lipskys here. The official event is Saturday. Some may opt to fish Friday and Sunday as well.
