This week long summer event is so much fun. We stay in an old 4H camp that has two wings of bunks. Each person gets two sets of bunks which allows some privacy and storage of your personal items. The top bunks are never used except to put stuff on. We house approx 12 gals in each wing, even though the capacity is much more.
Each day we have a new adventure. We pick different lakes to fish. This year our goal is to have gals earn a MI Master Angler Fish and submit that to the state of MI to receive a Master Angler Patch. We have scouted some really nice lakes. Some are new and some we have fished before.
The facility has a large common area/ dining room. There is a bathroom with showers in both wings. There is a large kitchen and some of the meals are planned ahead to keep things simple.

When we started coming here, it needed a lot of work. A volunteer staff has been working on improving the facility and they have been doing a great job. We used to be the only ones who rented it, but now it is getting quite popular. Some other activities that are possible are kayaking fishing the Michigamme River, Sporting Clays, and we usually have a craft day ready in case we have a crappy weather day.
In previous years, many members brought their boats and we would divide the group up and there were spots for all those that wanted to go. Much of the planning around this depends on how many women bring their boats so much of the details are worked out based on the needs of the group. We hope to open registration soon and there will be limited spots.
