Steelhead Fishing the Brule
We changed the date for this annual trip and pushed it back a little later. We are hoping for better weather and hungrier fish. This historical scenic river is a top Steelhead destination. We have been fishing this area for a number of years.
One common method of fishing is float fishing. Bait used can be flies, spawn, wax worms, beads or plastics. The special Steelhead float allows the bait to float down the river at a natural pace. Mending the line, proper reading of the water, setting the hook, fighting and landing these fish will all be covered in our Friday night seminar.
We have a total of 6 guided spots open for 1/2 day sessions. If and when you are not going out with a guide, we will break off into smaller groups and hike to some of the deep holes along the river. There are multiple access points between the Highway US-2 bridge and Lake Superior. Maps and bait are available at the gas station in town. Undated trend information will be shared at the free seminar on Friday Night. We hope to have at least one experience member with each group. Detailed information will be shared on the members only Facebook page.
There will be a $20 event fee for this trip. There is an optional goodie bag of tackle available to purchase for an additional $20. Guide packages are $150 for a 1/2 day session and all gear is included. ( tip is not include)
Registration will open soon. Members will have first access to guided spots.
