Ever been in an airboat? Watch this video from one of our previous perch airboat trip !
Well it is pretty exciting to be skimming over thin ice to get to solid ice where we will be fishing. We have four days reserved with Zach from Why Knot Guide Service. He will take us perch fishing via airboat. Once on the ice, we set all the rods and we wait for the catching to begin. You can bring your own rod and electronics if you wish but travel light because all gear has to be hauled out in the air boat. 8 people can go each day.
The rods are set in rod holders and the “dead stick” method is used. Super flexible rod are used and when the fish hit, its obvious. It is often non stop action so get ready for some fun.
We have 4 days. Start getting your group together and pick your day. There is a possibility of having a local guy clean all the perch. He butterflies them and everyone shares the catch of the day. We have done that in the past and it works out great. ( Perch cleaner may or may not be available.) Plan on spending most of the day outside.
Last year was super fun and some master angler perch and big pike were caught. Someone even caught a giant whitefish. You just never know when you fish Green Bay. Registration will open in October. Information on registration will be posted on the members only page. Active members will get advanced warning. Space is limited.
