We are doing something new this time. We have had ice fishing classes for years, but this time it is going to be different. We have 10 mentors that have offered to help you improve your skills. Maybe you have never ice fished before, maybe you have done quite a but but still struggle. Either way, no matter where you are at, there will be stuff to learn. We include safety, gear selection, jigging, tip ups, automatic fisherman, tackle, live bait, electronics, map reading and more. Join us as the best ice anglers we have, take you out and help you learn the in and outs of ice fishing. I am excited about this. Our mentors all have transportation but if you have an atv or snowmobile bring it. We will not be driving on the ice.
We have several bodies of water to pick from. The lake will be determined closer to the event. Take a look at the pictures on this page. We want you be able to have the confidence to go out and be able to ice fish independently. Your skills improve quickly with good instruction. We are going to try to match up the student with the mentor that best meets your needs.
Oxford has a wonderful place for lodging and they are a great supporter of WI Women Fish. The bait shop has a quaint house right next door right in the center of town. If you follow this link you will go to their facebook page. Scroll down and you will see pictures of the house, and photos. It is $100 per night and I already have the dates reserved. Click here to see the Franklin House. No need to call them to reserve just notify me if you need lodging. Many of the instructors are staying with members who reside in Oxford.
There are only 10 spots available. Sign up today to hold your spot.
