Many of us have dreamt of taking an Ice Fishing trip to the Walleye Capital of the World. Where here is our opportunity. I did some scouting last year and found the perfect place for us to take over. I like having the whole resort to ourselves, so our energy can fill the entire place.
We will be staying at the Rainy River Resort. This resort is laid out with several cabin style units that are equipped with two bedrooms with two twin beds in each one. Most have full kitchens. The resort has a restaurant and bar that has some of the best resort food that I have eaten.
One good thing about this trip is that we are making it as easy as possible. Get in your car, grab some friends and drive north to our destination. Just bring your, electronics, jig rods and some tackle and you will have everything you need. The resort owner will give us a ride to heated shacks in an SUV. We will into a warm vehicle and drive to a heated shack. In the shack, the holes are already drilled and there is bait inside. There are Vexilar’s to rent if you do not have one. The resort does considerable scouting to make sure the shacks are on the fish and moves them daily if necessary. Our cluster of shacks will be within walking distance of each other.
On this trip there will be a meal option. Can you imagine, having all the food provided for you? What a treat. Just head to happy hour after a day of fishing and get to socialize with old and new friends while someone else makes you dinner. If you go with the meal plan, that will include arrival dinner, breakfast Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and hot lunches delivered to you heated shack. Of course dinner is provided and I can just see the fun to be had with all of us in the restaurant bar area getting to tell big fish tales.
The price of this trip is $395 excluding meals and $520 with meals. When you buy your spot, will we add the 7% tax, so the only other cost to you will be guide and meal tips. The capacity for the trip is 32 and car pooling conversations can be started on our members only facebook page. You must be a member of WI Women Fish to attend this event. The pictures see on this page are from our trip there last year. What fun we had. Hope you can join us this year.
