If you are looking to add fun and adventure to your list of winter activities, you may want to consider Ice Fishing. We are offering a class to help you learn everything you need to know to enjoy this sport. Did you know that one gal who took this class a few years ago is now on the Clam Power Stick team? Once you learn the basics, this sport can take you where you want to go. If you want to travel to new destinations to catch huge fish you can, and we will show you how.
In this class, you will learn about ice safety, how to start and run a power auger, learn to set up a portable shack, set tips ups, use a jig rod, fish with live and artificial bait, how to use electronics, view life under the ice with the underwater camera and more. The instructors for this class are women and all the equipment is provided. We use nothing but the best in equipment and our Clam portable Ice shacks, Jiffy propane augers, Aqua-Vu cameras and Vexilar electronics. Once you know the basics you will feel comfortable joining us on our annual adventures across the ice belt.
This years class will be held on Crooked Lake which is about 50 minutes N. of Madison. the class is $75. Class will include lunch and an optional second fishing day on Castle Rock Lake. That second day really lets you put all your new learned skills together and the possibility of walleye and crappie await you. Other club members will join us and its a great way to make new fishing buddies. You can test a variety of equipment so you will become a more informed shopper. From picking the right clothing, to choosing gear that will fit your needs, we can help.
Class size is limited. Must be a current member of WI Women Fish to attend. Each participant will receive a goodie bag. Class starts inside and then moves to the ice.
