Does your life lack adventure? Have you seen the pictures of us holding big Walleye, Coho salmon, or massive Lake Trout? Well you can get in on the fun and learn all the skills you need to go ice fishing when ever you want. We go to Green Bay, Lake Superior, Big Green Lake , Castle Rock Lake and many side trips in between. Not only will you learn how to Ice Fish, you will also be a member in our club and you will be able to take advantage of our gear lending program. Check out a Jiffy Ice Auger, or an Eskimo shack. Add some tips ups and jig rods and take your friends and family out. This sport will make the winters fly by. When others are dreaded the cold weather, you will be getting excited.
We can teach you how to ice fish. In this class, you will learn about ice safety, how to start and run a power auger, learn to set up a portable shack, set tips ups, use a jig rod, fish with live and artificial bait, how to use electronics, view life under the ice with the Aqua View underwater camera and more. The instructors for this class are women and all the equipment is provided. We will also provide a hot lunch and coffee.
Once you know the basics, you can join us on other adventures and have the confidence you need to come fishing with us on our other Ice Fishing trips through out the winter. Last year our class sold out. Class size is limited and it is filled on a first come first serve basis.
The class is held on a Saturday, and on Sunday the whole club is invited on an Ice Fishing adventure on Castle Rock Lake. We will be targeting Crappie, Walleye and Northern Pike. We will have plenty of gear for all the new graduates and the other club members will be happy to mentor you.
Some of our prior graduates of our Ice Fishing Class are now Ice Fishing many different waters across the Midwest. All of us continue to learn new tactics and presentations every year. Being mobile on the ice and spending time on the water is the secret to success. The club members share information with each other and we have a great time. I hope you can join us.
The cost of the class is $75. The class includes all the gear the class on Saturday, lunch on Saturday and the all day trip on Sunday. The fee does not include the 2014 membership to WI Women Fish. You must be a member to attend.
Class will be filled on a first come first serve basis. Class size is limited. No refunds will be given unless your spot is filled off a waiting list. Cancellation fee applies. No refunds on memberships.
We fish in all weather. We will teach you how to dress to stay warm prior to the class. Exact meeting location will be sent to registered participants. Day one is on Crooked Lake in Oxford WI. Day two is on Castle Rock Lake exact location to be determined. In addition to the fishing class and the exciting trip to Castle Rock Lake, we are also having a live music event at the Fur Fin and Feather, which is near by. Donations at the door of the music event will be a benefit for Fishing Has no Boundaries .
