Our favorite Hayward area resort is hosting us again and we are super excited to chase their mega crappies this spring. Last year it was a sight to see. Atv’s, snowmobiles, side by sides, all giving rides from the resort out to the hot fishing holes. It was like our very own parade. The smiles, laughter, sunshine and big crappies made it a super fun weekend so we are doing it again.We have been having this event for several years and it is one of our members favorites. Deerfoot Lodge is Hayward WI is our wonderful host and they sure add to the fun.
Each year we do great fishing here, and the more we go the better we get at tracking them down. The resorts cabins are very nice and gals get together and share expenses. To reserve your cabin, contact Deerfoot Resort directly. They also have hotel rooms if you are not with a group.
The snowmobile trail goes right by the resort and we use the trail system to get to the fishing spots. Many gals bring snowmobiles or atvs and help to shuttle everyone out to the fishing spots. Those that don’t have their own unit, pitch in for gas cards to give tho those who haul their machines. It really is so much fun. There is a bar and restaurant on site. Be sure to try the peanut butter burger.
Cost for this event is $25 if you need on ice transportation. There is usually fishing Friday, Saturday and Sunday depending on peoples schedules. Must be a member to attend. Make your reservation soon as Deerfoot fill’s up. Check out their facebook page.
