I just fished the Chippewa Flowage and fell in love. Great fishing, great scenery and a great location. Our member Amanda Wilson is hosting her WWF sisters and sharing her knowledge of the lake. She owns Deerfoot Lodge, a resort right on the water.
March is prime time to catch a Master Angler Crappie. These waters have not been open for Ice Fishing long and you could fish here and not see another person all day. There is lots of water to cover, but great fishing is available right in front of Deerfoot Resort.
In addition to Crappies, bonus catchs of big pike are a possibility.
We have a few special things planned including a photo/video contest. Take a picture or 30 second video and text it to our special number during your stay. Those images will be entered into a contest and the winner will receive a new Go Pro or action camera. On Saturday night, we will watch a slide show of all photos entered.
We are also have a contest to decorate or embelish a wood plank tip up. Bring it to the event and the tip ups will be entered into a contest for another very nice prize. Now is the time to start thinking of your ideas and get to work on one of your old tip ups. 
AND wait there is more; We are having a $5 biggest ( Holy Crap) crappie tournament with a bonus prize for the (crappie) crappie. (smallest fish).
There is no fee for this event. Lodging is available at Deerfoot Lodge. They have cabins or hotel rooms so get to work on getting some friends together to share a cabin. I stayed in one last weekend and they are super nice. Call (715) 462-3328 to reserve a cabin.

Friday 3/9/18 – Arrive at Deerfoot lodge. Turn in your tip up for the Tip Up decorating contest.
6:30 p.m. – Meet in the resort bar. Update on the fishing and ice report. Sign in for a NO ENTRY FEE TOURNAMENT. Enter $5 biggest Crappie contest. Get help setting up your rods. Loaner rods handed out. Pair up for those needing a fishing buddy.
Saturday – 7:00 A.M. Tourney start. 4 P.m. Tourney End.
All Big Fish and Tournament Fish entered by 4:30 P.M. on the deck of the lodge. Winners of the tournament and tip up decorating contest will be announced at 7 p.m. in the bar.
Prizes include: Beaver Dam tip up, rod and reel combo, Go Pro Camera, Fishing Rod, Bucket Hoodie, Apparel, drink tickets and more. Rules meeting during Friday night meeting in the bar.
