Love fishing? Love paddling? We sure do. And finally there’s an event that combines our love of canoes, kayaks and fishing—right here in Wisconsin’s Favorite Outdoor Playground—Mercer! No motors are allowed !
Mercer is home to the famous Turtle-Flambeau Flowage Scenic Waters Area, as well as boasting 214 other lakes in a 30-mile radius, so there’s plenty of room for anglers and plenty of fish to catch. Just to sweeten the deal we added in a free fishing & paddling trade show on Saturday so you can see the latest and greatest that manufacturers have to offer, demos and workshops by experts who can teach you how to get the most out of your gear. Sunday promises to be quite entertaining with the final fishing day wrapped up by an awards banquet and special drawing for Camp Ryan Adams healing center for wounded warriors and….wait for it….Yes, thats right! a live preformance by fishing legend/blues band extraordinaire Joe Bucher and the Top Raiders!
Whether you fish the tournament or stop in for the FREE trade show and demonstrations, we think you’ll have a great time at Can-Yak! And don’t forget the band—Joe Bucher can really belt the blues.
Sound like fun? We think so too! Check out or facebook event page for this and start getting your teams together. Some of our members already have their camping reservations and others are staying at the host hotel, the Great Northern Motel in Mercer. WI Women Fish will have a booth there.
This event is sponsored by the Mercer Area Chamber of Commerce. To register and for more information go to www.can-yak.com.
